NOTICE

"Sadhu Ramchand Murmu, Pandit Raghunath Murmu, Lal Shukra Oraon, Birsa Munda and Sidhu Kanhu Smriti Puraskar" 2024-25

"Sadhu Ramchand Murmu, Pandit Raghunath Murmu, Lal Shukra Oraon, Birsa Munda and Sidhu Kanhu Smriti Puraskar" were introduced to recognize eminent persons from the tribal community of West Bengal. Government has been providing this recognition continuously since the year 2002. Like in previous years, this year also the applications are invited from individuals of the tribal communities for the above 5(five) awards as well.

Areas to be considered and Qualifications of the person to be considered:-

  1. Sadhu Ramchand Murmu Smriti Puraskar:- This award is accorded for literary works written in tribal languages. Only literary works created by the concerned person will be considered. 3 copies of published books or manuscripts should be sent.
  2. Pandit Raghunath Murmu Smriti Puraskar:- This award is accorded for arts and crafts. Applicant must have a minimum of 10 years of continuous and exemplary contribution in the said field. Artwork samples or originals must be sent.
  3. Lal Shukra Oraon Smriti Puraskar:- This award is accorded for special contribution in performing arts and excellence in music, dance, drama, recitation, storytelling, short story-pictures etc. The applicant should have minimum 10 years continuous and exemplary contribution in the said field. Artwork sample or original cassette/CD audio-video record (standard quality) should be sent.
  4. Birsa Munda Smriti Puraskar:- Special contribution in the field of science will be The applicant must have minimum 10 years of continuous and exemplary contribution in the said field. Attested copy (3 copies) of specimen/certificate should be sent.
  5. Sidhu Kanhu Smriti Puraskar:- Significant contribution in the field of social work ( development in education and health of people of tribal community, welfare of women and children, empowerment of women etc.) will be considered. Applicants must have minimum 10 years of continuous and exemplary contribution in the said field. Three(3)copies of specimen/ attested copy of certificate should be sent.

Applicant from tribal communities will be considered for the five awards.

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
  • Age should be minimum 25 years as on 01/01/2024.
  • Application along with books/cassettes/audio/video must be in vernacular language.
  • Verification of application will be done through various procedures including field verification.
  • The selection committee has right to accept or reject any application.
  • Application in plain white paper mentioning name, address, phone/mobile number,

date of birth, age, qualification, detailed information about his contribution etc and two(2) passport size photograph must be sent to the following address by hand/post within 09/09/2024 by 05.30 PM and by e-mail within 09/09/2024 by 12 midnight.
