The West Bengal Limbu Development Board was constituted vide resolution No.STDD-261/16/6E- 36/2015, dated 10th February 2016 and duly published in the Kolkata Gazette Extraordinary on 10th February 2016.
The main objective of the Board is the overall development of the Limbu people in West Bengal along with the preservation of their culture, tradition and language .
The Board has till date received Rs.27.25 crore as Grants-in-Aid from the Government of West Bengal. During the fiscal 2018-19 total fund to a tune of Rs. 9.40 Cr. have been released under Plan head.
Achievements:
The above grant-in-aid is being utilized for construction of houses for poor Limbu families under the "Yakthung Heem," scheme of the Board. Under the scheme 262 houses have been completed.
